UAW backs Duffy
HOLYOKE - At-large council candidate Patricia A. Duffy announced last week her endorsement by the city-based United Auto Workers Local 2322 and the union's political action committee.
As a former member of the local, Duffy said that the recognition of "my commitment to working families means a great deal to me."
Local president Ron Patenaude stated that Duffy's experience and leadership were a factor in the endorsement. Eunice Coutinho, a city resident and union local housekeeper at Mount Holyoke College, said that she and Duffy "have had similar experiences fighting to bring the UAW to our workplace."
